Andrea Gorfolova,

President

Andrea has played the pivotal role in establishing Tricon as one of the most successful and fastest growing film and television production companies in Canada. Formally trained in international finance and exceptionally well-connected within the media industry, Andrea launched the firm in 2000. Her skill in raising investment capital for a broad array of projects as well as her in-depth knowledge of film and television production, has resulted in Tricon becoming one of this country’s leading suppliers of high quality factual and scripted content. Prior to establishing Tricon, Andrea managed the re-financing and expansion of new media markets for Pictor Entertainment and acted as executive producer on several internationally successful animation series.

Jameel Bharmal,

Director/Writer

Jameel Bharmal is one of the founders of Tricon Television having created, written and directed almost all of the company's shows. Notably being the creator, writer, director of Matchmaker, Restaurant Makeover, Marriage Under Construction, The Next Star and most recently Secrets From A Stylist on HGTV USA. His shows have been broadcast in over 120 countries and he loves long walks on the beach.

 

 

Jon Rutherford,

VP, Distribution & Business Development

Jon oversees all sales and acquisitions in the distribution department, which contains a catalogue of over 1200 hours of programming. Along with managing operations, he focuses on worldwide television and home video sales while building digital, new media, merchandising and licensing strategies. Over his 14-year career in film and television, Rutherford has established an excellent reputation for cultivating strong international alliances with some of the world’s most prestigious broadcast and specialty networks. Prior to joining Tricon, Rutherford worked for Portfolio Entertainment and rapidly became a key player in the global entertainment industry. Along with his team, Rutherford was responsible for worldwide acquisitions and sales of the company’s library, which he helped increase to over 900 hours of programming. Similarly, during his tenure as distribution head, Rutherford doubled earnings and total program sales. Prior to this, he served as operations supervisor for Technicolor Creative Services.

Lewin Webb,

Executive Producer, Head of Scripted Programing

Lewin Webb has produced and directed numerous independent films and tv movies over his twenty year career.  He joins Tricon Film & Television on the heels of his latest film, I Declare War, premiering to critical and audience acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival.  His Producer credits also include Winged Creatures (Forest Whitaker, Dakota Fanning, Kate Beckinsale), Chapter 27 (Jared Leto, Lindsay Lohan), Delirious (Steve Buscemi) and The Deal (William H Macy, Meg Ryan, LL Cool J).  He also produced the first film production for ESPN, Season on the Brink, and was the producer of the first original film for MTV, Jailbait.  Webb Executive Producer credits include Casino Jack (Kevin Spacey, Barry Pepper, Kelly Preston) and his credits as Director include The Good Sheppard (Christian Slater, Molly Parker) and The Limit (Lauren Bacall, Pete Postlethwaite).  Webb was also part of the Canadian team responsible for the hit series, The Tudors. For Tricon, Webb oversees the development and execution of all scripted programming.

Michael Rosas,

Creative Director

Michael has dedicated the past 10 years working on several critically acclaimed titles as a Director in the television industry. He first joined the Tricon team in 2004 taking up the reigns as Director of Photography for their fast growing roster of productions . His role quickly expanded over the years to lead the visual content and branding of all Tricon shows. He excelled in this position by bringing a unique trademark style evident in his work that has contributed to the company's success as a leading content provider. His current role as Creative Director has given him the opportunity to expand his knowledge of content creation by contributing to the inception and execution of the current wave of new titles that Tricon is selling and producing. From show concept to production, to post and broadcast, Michael strives to deliver highly crafted products for Tricon's long list of premier international clients.

Vincenzo Lettieri,

Series Director/Producer

Vincenzo has been with Tricon Films & Television for the last 8 years starting as a Production Co-ordinator. He is now an experienced TV Series Director/Producer. Within the last 2 years Vincenzo has expanded his role with Tricon as a vital part of the Development Team. As a Series Director / Producer Vincenzo overseas the overall production taking care of budgets, staffing and deliverables. Vincenzo has worked with both Canadian and American broadcasters. Some of his production credits includes Marriage Under Construction, Building Bryks, and Renovate My Wardrobe.

Tammi Downey,

VP Factual Development

Tammi Downey is an experienced TV producer who has been working in the
industry for over a decade. She began work in daily live talk and entertainment programming before moving into the lifestyle sphere. She has since taken on roles in program development and has piloted shows to series
for networks in Canada and the U.S. Tammi has been with Tricon Films and Television since 2007.

Marc Kell Whitehead,

General Manager, Production Business Affairs

Starting his career switching for live TV in Australia Marc Kell Whitehead worked his way through production and around the world to eventually land in Toronto. He joined Tricon in 2009 having cut his teeth in North America on shows for Canadian and US broadcasters including Discovery Channel and PBS. Most recently he has produced YTV’s hit series The Next Star.

 

 

Mateusz Psuty,

Technical Director

Mateusz Psuty has worked with Tricon since it’s early beginnings in 2000 with the production of Matchmaker. His strong production background has contributed to the reform of the visual and technical quality of Tricon’s programming. On top of his technical director responsibilities Mateusz has contributed to each of Tricon’s countless productions. Throughout the past decade Mateusz has played various roles at Tricon: including producing, field directing, managing, and supervising numerous projects. His approach has helped Tricon become one of the most capable film and television production companies in Canada.

Caminie Mahadeo,

Financial Officer 

A fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and a member of the Certified General accountants in Canada, Caminie joined Tricon in 2004 when she moved to Canada. She uses her savvy business sense to manage the finances for the company on a daily basis. Coming from a background of auditing and taxation, she has complimented her qualifications with numerous seminars and courses relevant to her work as an accountant in the entertainment industry.

Ashley Rite,

Manager of Development & International sales - Tricon Kids

Ashley brings her years of experience in family programming and digital media to produce high quality assets for Tricon’s programs, as well as expand on its growing catalogue for the kids’ broadcast market. At Tricon, Ashley is responsible for developing animation & live-action youth programming for both scripted and unscripted projects. She is also actively involved in sales and acquisitions for Tricon’s distribution division. Prior to joining Tricon, Ashley held development and sales positions at Skywriter Media & Entertaiment Group, Irwin Toy & High Fidelity HDTV.

Allison Brough,

Development Researcher

Allison Brough, joined the Tricon family back in 2010, as executive assistant to President Andrea Gorfolova. Through her social and inquisitive nature, Allison gained insight to the various branches of Tricon. Finding a knack for researching and casting, Allison has helped to find talent for Tricon's factual programming titles throughout North America and Internationally. Prior to Tricon, Allison studied Film at Dalhousie and worked at JumpTV and Rogers Television. 

 

Stefan Pincente,

Manager, Business Affairs

After completing his B.A. in Film Production at UBC, Stefan spent several years in Vancouver working with Producers in lifestyle and scripted entertainment. He returned to Toronto to complete an M.A. in Media Production at Ryerson, and has since gone on to manage business affairs and production elements for several Toronto-based television production companies. He has been with Tricon since early 2011.

 

Chris Field,

Head of Post Production 

Christopher Field brings over 22 years of experience in post-production to Tricon.  After being part of the team that brought Life Network (now Slice Network) to the air in 1994, Chris was Senior Editor at Alliance Atlantis (now Shaw Media).  There, he cut long-form programs for their family of specialty networks, including Tricon's hit series "Matchmaker", which began in 2001.  In 2004, Chris joined Tricon to create their post-production division, which quickly evolved from one edit suite to a dozen, handling the finishing needs of Tricon's growing number of series.  Chris now manages this department, overseeing its editing staff while cutting pilots and episodes of series currently in production.

Kathleen Steele,

Post Production Supervisor

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto with distinction, Kathleen traveled extensively and sampled different career options.  Her interest in the television industry lead her to Sheridan College, where she completed a course in Avid.  Eager to pursue a career in post production, Kathleen became an intern at Tricon Films & Television in the fall of 2007.  Shortly thereafter she was hired on as Post Production Coordinator.  Kathleen is now Post Production Supervisor.

 

 

Chris McLaughlin,

I.T.

Chris IT, as he has been fondly referred to in his career at Tricon, comes from a background of post-production and information technology. Bringing 10 years of video workflow experience, Chris comes prepped with a lifetime of computer skills that facilitate Tricon's ability to run its creative operations virtually free from technical obstacles. Chris joined the Tricon team in the fall of 2007, and since then has found a home amongst friends and fellow techies.
